President Jokowi Review Rohingya Ethnic Situation in Refugee Camp

President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo visited one of the Rohingya refugee camps at Kamp Jamtoli, Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh, Sunday (28/1). This became one of the agenda of President Jokowi during his state visit in Bangladesh.
Jokowi said the visit to the Rohingya refugee camps was intended to review the current situation and condition more than the refugees. In addition, in this opportunity Jokowi also can see firsthand the activities undertaken by government and non-governmental organizations of Indonesia.
"I was present at this Jamtoli Refugee Camp at Cox's Bazar to first look directly at the activities of our community, by our NGOs, and also by the government," President Jokowi said after the visit as reported by Instagram @ sekretariat.kabinet account, Sunday (28/1).
Jokowi would like to thank all parties from Indonesia, both from government and non-governmental organizations, who have been supporting and providing real assistance to Rohingya refugees.
"I also want to express my gratitude to all parties from Indonesia, including the community, humanitarian NGOs," continued Jokowi.
Jokowi had time to interact directly with the Rohingya refugees. On this occasion, Jokowi provides humanitarian and health assistance such as water pumps, medical clinics, and a number of other health facilities.
He asserted, Indonesia will continue to help the Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh.
"This humanitarian aid will be provided on an ongoing basis," he said.
Jokowi also reviewed the activities and performance of the Health Camp Indonesia Humanitarian Alliance (IHA) and The Dreamers. This health camp is one of the health facilities resulting from cooperation between government, NGOs and Indonesian organizations. The location of this health camp is quite strategic because it is located in one of the refugee camp with the number of refugees 50,500 people, namely Jamtoli.
In his visit this time, President Jokowi was accompanied by First Lady and Iriana Jokowi, Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Special Staff Coordinator of President Teten Masduki, and Indonesian Ambassador to Bangladesh Rina Soemarno. (Red: Muchlishon Rochmat)
